Tails on the Trail

Hi, I am Lesley-Anne and I am the proud owner of 2 German Shepherd Dogs. After being attacked, my youngest dog Morgan developed low confidence and reactivity towards other dogs.

I worked tirelessly with professional trainers to help her overcome her anxieties. Years of exposure training, socialising, dog sports, obedience training and enriching walks followed.

At the beginning of 2024 I decided to pursue my passion for adventure training and combine it with my new found passion for dog training. So I started an adventure training business with a focus on helping dog owners explore the UK and go on pawfect adventures

I have always been passionate about hiking, camping and exploring and being able to involve my dogs in my passion has been my greatest joy. There is a lot of foundation work that goes into preparing both dogs and owners to safely hike in remote, rural places. So I have teamed up with Sophie, a wonderful certified dog trainer who is as passionate about dogs living their best lives as I am.

Together we offer a whole range of training classes, workshops, programs designed to help dogs explore the world calmly and safely and make hiking and camping a fun experience for both dogs and owners.

Freya

The first 10 months of Freya's life were not the easiest. Despite being an intelligent dog with a wonderful temperament she was not being worked and was living outside with a pack of strong headed dogs. It was clear she was being bullied by the other dogs and that the outdoor lifestyle was not right for her.

We asked if we could take her and make her part of our family and we were told to just go ahead and take her.

Since bringing her home she has proven to be an amazing dog. She is gentle, playful and intelligent. She has become a wonderful big sister to Morgan and is thriving.

Due to he good nature and confidence Freya often works as a stooge dog, helping other dogs grow their confidence being out in the world with another dog and interacting appropriately in a calm neutral way.

Morgan

Morgan has been a part of our family since she was 9 weeks old. We jumped into training and socialising straight away and she became a happy playful puppy who was quick to learn and had a drive to work.

At just 4 months old Morgan was attacked by an off lead dog in the woods, this and multiple other bad experiences with off lead out of control dogs knocked her confidence.

When Morgan entered adolescence reactivity started to develop and our once playful puppy became uncomfortable with off lead dogs she doesn't know entering her space.

Since then we have worked constantly with her and professional trainers to help her regain her confidence.
