Tails on the Trail

Hi, I am Lesley-Anne and I am the proud owner of 2 German Shepherd Dogs. After being attacked, my youngest dog Morgan developed low confidence and reactivity towards other dogs.

I worked tirelessly with professional trainers to help her overcome her anxieties. Years of exposure training, socialising, dog sports, obedience training and enriching walks followed.

When my partner made the brave decision to go to Ukraine to volunteer I was in need of a dog walker to help while I was at work. I could not find anyone that I trusted. On my walks I met multiple dog walkers with 6-8 off lead dogs and I knew this was not suitable for either of my dogs. I ended up paying a professional trainer to do training sessions outside instead of walks, but all I wanted was for my girls to have a fun, stress free, stimulating walk while I was at work.

At the beginning of 2024 I decided to quit my job and pursue my passion for dog training. So I started a dog walking business with a focus on quiet, stress free, enriching walks for high energy, working breeds. I work with the owners to continue the dogs training when they are unable.

I am currently offering 1-2-1 walks all over Gloucestershire

Lesley-Anne

Having owned and trained animals all my life in 2022 I decided to take the leap and get my dream dog, a German Shepherd. I wanted a dog I could train from a puppy to be my adventure and competition dog. So in March 2022 we welcomed Morgan into our family.

Only 6 months after bringing home Morgan we rescued a 10 month old German Shepherd, we named her Freya.

Through Morgan and Freya I rediscovered my passion for training animals and combined this with my passion for the great outdoors to turn my dogs into adventure dogs. Over the years we have taken our dogs everywhere with us. Hiking, swimming, wild camping and exploring the beauty of the UK.

I train and participate in a range of sports such as agility, rally-obedience, canicross, nosework and mantrailing.

Morgan

Morgan has been a part of our family since she was 9 weeks old. We jumped into training and socialising straight away and she became a happy playful puppy who was quick to learn and had a drive to work.

At just 4 months old Morgan was attacked by an off lead dog in the woods, this and multiple other bad experiences with off lead out of control dogs knocked her confidence.

When Morgan entered adolescence reactivity started to develop and our once playful puppy became uncomfortable with off lead dogs she doesn't know entering her space.

Since then we have worked constantly with her and professional trainers to help her regain her confidence. Through this process I have developed a strong understanding of reactive dogs and how to manage dogs that are not comfortable in every environment.

Freya

The first 10 months of Freya's life were not the easiest. Despite being an intelligent dog with a wonderful temperament she was not being worked and was living outside with a pack of strong headed dogs. It was clear she was being bullied by the other dogs and that the outdoor lifestyle was not right for her.

We asked if we could take her and make her part of our family and we were told to just go ahead and take her.

Since bringing her home she has proven to be an amazing dog. She is gentle, playful and intelligent. She has become a wonderful big sister to Morgan and is thriving.

Due to he good nature and confidence Freya often works as a stooge dog, helping other dogs grow their confidence being out in the world with another dog and interacting appropriately in a calm neutral way.
